The Give In May challenge is an enormous opportunity for non-profit organizations like J-Sei to fundraise. There are monetary prizes for the top fundraiser and for the organization that has the most donors contributing. J-Sei is extremely fortunate to also have individuals who are offering a $50,000 matching donation! We live in a world today filled with uncertainty, fear and doubt. Many of us are feeling stressed because we don't know what the future holds. This pays a huge toll on our physical and mental well-being. It is in times like these that balance in one's life, friendships, social interaction and programs that support a strong body and mind are critical. It is in times like these that the programs and services provided by J-Sei must remain strong and continue to grow.
J-Sei's nutrition program is it's hallmark, one of a kind service providing hot, Japanese-influenced meals in the greater Bay Area. 37,000 meals are delivered per year to home-bound seniors in Richmond, El Cerrito, Albany, Berkeley, Oakland, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Hayward, Alameda and Walnut Creek. As a volunteer driver, I have experienced first-hand the importance of this service to each and every one of our seniors. The healthy meal keeps their bodies strong but the visit, the check-in, the short but oh, so important conversations about the Warriors, the Giants, their families support their emotional and mental health!
J-Sei also offers services in Case Management, Caregiver referrals and Friendly callers and visitors. These are valuable services
