Founded in 2013 by TV/Film Producer, Philanthropist, and Media Activist Cathlyn Choi, the Asian Culture and Media Alliance (ACMA) is a distinctive grassroots nonprofit organization. Our core mission is to advocate for the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities, promoting cultural preservation, equity, inclusion, and diversity through the impactful medium of media arts.
Our primary goal is to amplify the voices and shared experiences of our diverse AANHPI community. We achieve this through media arts that bridge the gaps between diverse communities.
Largely self-funded by ACMA's founder and show producer Cathlyn Choi, Asian Pacific Voices is a collective of cable television and radio podcast platforms dedicated to documenting, preserving, and showcasing Asian and Pacific Islander arts and culture landscapes throughout Southern California and beyond.
Our weekly hosted podcast series, Asian Pacific Voices Radio, launched in 2021, offers a platform for honest dialogues that dive deeper into social and cultural issues impacting our AANHPI community, including immigration, mental health, self-identity, and social justice. With an average of 500 daily listeners, it is accessible on all major podcast platforms and again via our YouTube channel.
We're on a vital fundraising mission, aiming for $20,000 to sustain our radio podcast series for its new season and produce 24 documentary segments by Spring of 202. Your support is crucial to our success!
