Stories That Matter: Asian Pacific Voices!
$0 Raised
Established in 2013, Asian Culture and Media Alliance or ACMA's MISSION in serving the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities is to advance the cause for cultural preservation, better equity, inclusion, and diversity through the power of media arts.
OUR OBJECTIVE is to uplift our voices and commonalities by promoting the cultural arts, which build bridges between diverse communities. We also aim to inspire future generations of diverse creators through our youth vocational media programs. These programs have the transformative potential to shape the future of media arts, and your support can help us realize this vision.
OUR VISION is to advance the empowerment of stronger representation in mainstream television and film media arts by becoming a center for inspiring culture and media arts advocacy, education, vocational training, and original content creation, serving the needs of the larger AANHPI diaspora communities in the US. We believe in that shared goal and invite you to join us on this journey.
One of ACMA’s core objectives is to provide educational opportunities and mentorship programs that inspire our future generations of storytellers, producers, writers, directors and media technicians. To provide such resources, ACMA founded TAKE ONE in 2016, where 1,411 participants have graduated. TAKE ONE is an annual, vocational, hands-on media training and internship program provided free of charge for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) high school and transitional youth participants in Southern California.
Currently in pre-production of a new Season 6 series, Asian Pacific Voices is the recipient of Telly and Fil-Am Humanitarian Awards, the only Short Form Documentary Cable Television Series featuring impactful stories of the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI) communities in Southern California!
Our program aims to raise awareness and better understand the rich and diverse AANHPI cultures and heritage. It is intended to break down racial stereotypes and cultural barriers in these communities and create a positive “voice” for them. Our content highlights culture, community, business, music, fashion, film, and food while entertaining and educating the general population about the diversity within the AANHPI community.
An expansion of our documentary work,Asian Pacific Voices Radio is a weekly podcast launched in 2020 that brings together culture, storytelling, and meaningful dialogue. Featuring more than 180 dynamic conversations, the series explores a wide range of topics and lived experiences impacting Asian and Pacific Islander communities across the U.S.
