The Challenge

The US incarcerates more people than any nation on earth, and the trauma does not end at release. Women inside face severe mental health crises, emotional dysregulation, and suicidal ideation with almost no access to healing support. Families carry that weight too, including children who grow up shaped by separation and grief. Without intervention, cycles of harm repeat across generations. Over 615 people have come through our doors, each one deserving of care the system was never built to provide.

The Solution

No one else is doing this. The Heart Center carries ancient AANHPI healing traditions inside California prison walls: yoga, sound healing, Reiki, pranayama, meditation, cacao ceremony, Ho'oponopono, EFT tapping and more. This is medicine that belongs to everyone. We also project meditations across 43,000+ CDCR screens statewide, reaching people inside every single day. Participants report reduced anxiety, greater emotional regulation, and renewed self-worth. All of it, completely free.
