Jacquelyn's story:
I began working in spaces serving the API community over five years ago. What started as a longing for connection grew into creating spaces where our community could feel represented and supported. I've made countless memories helping bring to life movie screenings, art exhibits, concerts, and even a rose float! Over time, however, I realized that representation within our own circles isn't enough.
It isn't enough to thrive in our bubbles if the world outside is still filled with barriers.
In my ideal world, there are no barriers to API representation. There is no need for "extra" resources to level the playing field because everyone is truly reflected at the decision-making table. Leadership would be diverse, equitable, and accessible to all.
Two weeks ago, I started a new job at LEAP as a Program Coordinator. For over 40 years, LEAP has been building exactly what I dream of: a strong pipeline of API leaders across all sectors. These leaders will be making decisions that shape our culture, opportunities, and collective future.
Join me in supporting this vision and ensuring that our communities have the leaders, voices, and representation we all deserve.
