ACA 50th Anniversary Capital Campaign

“Passing the Torch: Remembering Our History, Reimagining the Future”.

    2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of Association of Chinese Americans (ACA), a momentous milestone at a turning point in history. For 50 years, ACA has continued to provide quality educational, economic, cultural, and social services. To promote community health, we have been providing Covid-relief services, such as personal protection equipment packages, COVID-19 vaccine community clinics, health screening fairs, and one-on-one counseling sessions for community members. 

    We will keep working diligently to make our programs at the Detroit Service Center, Chinese Community Center, and Canton Center hallmarks of our collaborative and community partnership efforts. However, our commitment will require investment in new tools and resources for programming and maintaining our centers for the health, safety, and enjoyment of those we serve.

1. ACA 50th Anniversary Events 

While commemorations of this very special ACA milestone are quite appropriate and have valuable collateral benefits in generating excitement and solidifying unity in the Asian Pacific American community, they require funding to launch and complete. Your donation will cover shortfalls and unexpected event and production expenses. ACA will be honored by your participation and generosity.

2. Programs and Services 

For fifty years and to the present, ACA has provided valuable social, educational, cultural, and health related programs and services for seniors, youth, young professionals, and assisted those in need through our three service centers. These programs and services have been recognized for their quality and importance by peer providers as well as recipients. Your donation will allow ACA to continue to be the Asian American organization to call and count on for community services that support as well as enrich lives. 

3. Chinese Community Center Capital & Building Improvement

Regular use and rentals of the Chinese Community Center (CCC) building and grounds are essential for ACA to support its mission and the communities around it. Much needed amenities such as a fully functional kitchen could increase income and better serve the community. Facility upkeep and upgrades ensure the safety and comfort of all who provide and avail of its services. Your donation helps keep ACA’s doors open and the lights on.

4. General Funds

While you can make a program-specific donation, consider making a gift across all aspects of the organization. It will go where it is most needed and most helpful, any time.
