Grant Din for J-Sei in May

Ros and I have supported J-Sei over the years, but now want to even more because our family members are now participants! My mom, 96 years young, participates in its congregate meal program and watercolor class, and so we do too (my sister and I take turns bringing Mom). I've enjoyed trying to bring out my long-dormant artistic skills, too, and have seen old friends and made new ones who are diners, students, and volunteers. Mom has enjoyed continuing her painting, which she started over thirty years ago, and we enjoy the meals and company. 

There is always great artwork on the walls and in the gallery, and artists even join us at mealtime sometimes.

We hope you can support J-Sei's services for older adults in our community. With your help, they can continue to receive nourishing meals, meaningful connection, and the care they deserve. J-Sei provides healthy, home-delivered Japanese meals and in-person communal lunches, as well as wellness and cultural programs (both in-person and online), family caregiver support, a caregiver registry (which we've also used), case management, and friendly visitor services for Asian American communities across the East Bay of Northern California. It has some great classes in movement, balance, art, memoir writing, takes the seniors on field trips, has a Japanese movie night, and much more.
