This May, I am supporting KCCEB’s #CounselingforAsians campaign, because the need for our expansive work continues to be as important as ever.
The dual-pandemics of COVID-19 and anti-Asian racism have worsened mental health challenges many people in our community face. Here are some figures that bring light to the reality of Asian American mental health:
KCCEB offers free counseling to those who need support, including youth, elders, people who speak languages other than English, and individuals who are underinsured or uninsured. KCCEB’s counselors speak English, Korean, Cantonese, Mandarin, Khmer and other Asian languages. They are first or second-generation Asian Americans who identify with the people they counsel, and they have a heart for the community.
In this video, you’ll hear from a client who received counseling through our Asian Community Wellness program.
KCCEB’s goal is to raise $72,000 to provide over 600 free culturally-responsive counseling sessions to Asians living across California facing barriers to much-needed treatment.
My personal goal is to raise a total of 140 donations. Any help— whether it's a $5 donation, or sharing about this campaign with your friends and family— is appreciated. Will you support this cause today?
