CCC brings hope through art, like with our initiative Port City Creative Guild (PCCG) which brought together 80 local artists and 400 LBUSD students to create over 260 pieces of envelope art. The resulting "Couriers of Hope" physical and virtual exhibition was a historical first for the local community, with CCC bringing together 10 museums, galleries, and arts organizations in this collaborative curatorial effort

Right now, we are focused on organizing this year's POW! WOW! Long Beach, an art festival planned for fall 2021, which will include artists repairing damaged murals, injecting new life into our city's public spaces. To date, through POW! WOW! Long Beach, we have executed over 90 murals throughout the city, bringing work from local and international artists to locations from South Street to Ocean Boulevard, creating a walkable, bikeable public art experience unlike anything else in the country.

We're also set to reveal an exciting new initiative! Launching alongside POW! WOW! Long Beach will be a modern art festival of site-specific installations that invites you to enjoy your natural surroundings with fresh appreciation. This event will draw attention to the hidden beauty of our city's waterfront space.

Testimonials

"The way that [Port City Creative Guild] is set up is, in my opinion, really fantastic. I think that high school art students being able to trade their work for a professional's is such an interesting concept. It encourages the two groups to communicate artistically and gives students a view into the professional art world. The exchange of the art itself is almost an encouragement to aspiring artists that says "this piece was in a museum and was traded for yours. Your art is valuable and important. You are important." - Azure, Student, Renaissance High School for the Arts
