SPEAK (Supportive Place for Empowering AAPI & Kin)

SPEAK's mission is empowering AAPI community wellbeing through education, advocacy, research & services. We focus on bringing mental health into traditionally non-mental health spaces for destigmatization and awareness, ensuring adequate AAPI representation in all parts of research and resource allocation, and improving access to culturally and linguistically matching therapeutic services. 

SPEAK is a capacity-building organization.  We train primary care providers and community leaders (e.g. faith-based leaders; community-based organization youth mentors) to build networks that support Asian Americans’ mental health. We also host a directory of bicultural and bilingual Asian American therapists on our website at https://www.connecttospeak.org/find-a-provider

SPEAK works closely with local Westchester County community organizations.  We are grateful for the interests of groups like the Mount Sinai - Japanese Clinic, Open Door, the Chinese Community Church of Westchester and the Westchester Jewish Community Services for participating in some of our early trainings to better support the Asian American community.
