SPEAK's mission is empowering AANHPI community wellbeing through education, advocacy, research & services. We focus on bringing mental health into traditionally non-mental health spaces for destigmatization and awareness, ensuring adequate AANHPI representation in all parts of research and resource allocation, and improving access to culturally and linguistically matching therapeutic services.
SPEAK is a capacity-building organization. We train primary care providers and community leaders (e.g. faith-based leaders; community-based organization youth mentors and youth leaders) to build networks that support Asian Americans’ mental health. We also host a directory of bicultural and bilingual Asian American therapists on our website at https://www.connecttospeak.org/find-a-provider
SPEAK works closely with community organizations in Westchester County, New York. We are grateful for the interest of groups like the Mount Sinai - Japanese Clinic, Open Door, the Chinese Community Church of Westchester and the Westchester Jewish Community Services for participating in some of our early trainings to better support the Asian American community. In 2025, we expanded our reach to 20+ organizations. We have now trained 165+ first-line providers to be culturally responsive to the needs of the growing AANHPI community.
As a young non-profit organization, SPEAK is incredibly grateful for donations. We thank you for supporting our important mission and greatly value your generous support. Thank you!
