Self-Help for the Elderly promotes independence, well-being, and dignity for older adults through culturally aligned services and programs.

Your contribution supports these critical services enabling us to care for our seniors and make sure they are healthy mentally and physically:

  • home care and hospice programs
  • senior housing
  • nutritious meals and home-delivered meals programs
  • safety escort services for seniors
  • social services
  • wellness checks
  • virtual activities

The Department of Nutrition and Senior Centers' programs and community services at our activity centers are more than a meal or single service. In our 13 activity centers, seniors and adults with disabilities have access to healthy, nutritious meals and are also provided the opportunity to socialize, make new friends, exercise, and access other services, resources, and referrals.

In last fiscal year, our Nutrition Department services over 742,700 congregate and home-delivered meals; hosted 6,985 hours of virtual classes; and provided 5,150 case management services.
