The NAPABA Law Foundation

A nonprofit organization

The NAPABA Law Foundation (NLF) is a non-profit, charitable and educational affiliate of NAPABA. The NAPABA Law Foundation:

  • Provides financial assistance to law students who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to serve or contribute to the Asian Pacific American community as future leaders.
  • Supports the development of internships and fellowships in the areas of public interest and community service relating to the Asian Pacific American community.
  • Assists in the conducting of legal scholarship with respect to legal issues affecting the Asian Pacific American community.
  • Develops and supports programs to educate the legal profession and Asian Pacific American communities about legal issues affecting those communities.

Each year, NLF provides over $120,000 in scholarships and fellowships to a dozen students, allowing them access to legal education and placing them in judicial internships and supporting their public and community service. For over 25 years, NLF has awarded nearly $2 million dollars to thousands of law students across the country.

By giving to the NAPABA Law Foundation this May, you'll be joining a dedicated group of NAPABA members, including attorneys, judges, law faculty, legal scholars, and stakeholders from across the country who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the APA Community. Together we can:

  • Provide funding for practical experience to early career attorneys who have a passion for public service, the protection of human and civil rights, and demonstrate commitment to AANHPI communities.
  • Encourage talented and aspiring law students by expanding the NLF Scholarships.
  • Recognize and support future leaders for their dedication to the AANHPI community.
  • Support the Thomas Tang National Moot Court Competition, highlighting and recognizing the oral and written advocacy skills of law students as they tackle critical legal issues impacting our community.
  • Expand NLF fellowship programs, including the Community Law Fellowship, to assist early career attorneys in pursuing public service careers.
