LEADERSHIP & EDUCATION THROUGH GAGANA FA'ASĀMOA
Our Purpose (Le Mafua'aga)
LE GaFa is a community organization based out of Los Angeles, California committed to the preservation of Samoan language, culture and identity outside of our homeland. Through our community outreach we strive to demonstrate, embody, and perpetuate Fa'a Samoa for both present and future generations. We provide leadership and education with our instruction and workshops for all ages and welcome all those of Samoan heritage or those who identify as Samoan at heart.
-
MISSION (Manulautī) To preserve Sāmoan language, culture and the identity of our diaspora by remaining inclusively rooted in our core values of Alofa (Love), Tautua (Service) and Fa’aaloalo (Respect).
-
VISION (Va'aiga Mo Le Lumana'i) To promote a safe learning space that is dedicated to education, leadership and building community that perpetuates Fa’a Sāmoa.
-
OBJECTIVE (Fa'amoemoega) To achieve our mission we provide comprehensive and multi-modal educational programs, cultural workshops, and strategic community partnerships that are traditionally grounded while remaining relatable in the modern world.
Our History (Tala'aga)
LE GaFa has been teaching classes since 2017. What started out as small, in-person lessons in Long Beach California, have grown to become interactive online classes taught to students all over the world.
In 2020, we became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Your tuition and donations fully fund our classes and enable us to do more outreach to the global Samoan community. Through your support, we've been able to add more teachers and classes to each cohort, add media to our lesson plans, and host workshops. Thank you!
