The mission of Friends of Little Sài Gòn is to preserve and enhance Little Saigon's cultural, economic, and historic vitality.

Little Saigon Landmark: From Vision to Reality

Friends of Little Sài Gòn (FLS) was formed in 2011 when a small group of business owners and community members came together to respond to dramatic changes in their neighborhood. In 2012, we launched our 2020 Little Saigon Action Plan, which outlined a plan for the community to address displacement forces stemming from our proximity to a regional transportation hub (downtown Seattle) and land-use changes allowing for significantly increased density in Little Saigon.

A key component of the action plan is the Little Saigon Landmark Project, which “aims to be the social, cultural, and economic hub of the Vietnamese-American community in the Greater Seattle Area.” After more than a decade of organizing, gathering community input, and raising money, we are in the final stretch of the campaign for the project!

This cultural and economic center will offer 70 units of affordable family-sized apartment homes, accessible commercial space for small businesses, and a place for our community to gather, create, and thrive after it's completed in late 2028.

Every contribution of any dollar amount is an investment in a storied and resilient neighborhood that continues to face physical and cultural displacement pressures, public safety challenges, and more. We invite you to join us in protecting our community’s history, our culture, and each other.

"Besides the amazing Vietnamese food and drinks, I am excited to have a space where my mom and sons can see reflections of their cultural heritage, a place where they can enjoy hanging out with their friends.  The Landmark project is the manifestation of our community's courage, grit, and resilience. I can’t wait for people of all generations and backgrounds to experience the vibrant, pioneering spirit of the Vietnamese American community!"
