$50,000 Goal

Founded in 1975 to address displacement of thousands of Asian American individuals, families, and small businesses from Oakland Chinatown due to major infrastructure projects, the East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) has grown to be Oakland's largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing with over 2300 units for over 4000 residents, and serving over 6,000 individuals annually with a range of services including financial coaching and social services. EBALDC is also the East Bay's largest nonprofit commercial landlord with over 370,000 sf of space for over 100 nonprofits and small businesses. To date, EBALDC's commercial portfolio boasts a 92% occupancy rate due to the deep support we provide to business owners so they can focus on thriving.

Iconic Oakland properties owned and managed by EBALDC include the Asian Resource Center, Swan's Market, Preservation Park, and the California Hotel.
