WELCOME TO THE CHINESE CULTURE CENTER!

For over 50 years, we have empowered Chinatown as a symbol of the American immigrant experience.

As an artist-centered and community-driven organization, we believe in the power of creative expression to inspire connection and catalyze change. Through thought-provoking exhibitions and educational programs, we strive to spark crucial conversations that bring together diverse perspectives, inspire meaningful action, and pave the way for a more just and inclusive future.

Be a part of realizing artists' visions and creating a more equitable society through the transformative power of art and advocacy!

OUR IMPACT IN 2023

YOUR SUPPORT MEANS...

Bold Art with Social Transformation
As incidents of Anti-Asian racism mounted on since the pandemic, a narrative of fear and disempowerment also stiped away at our hope and humanity. Cutting-edge programs such as “Interior Garden,” 41 Ross Artist-in-Residence, and “How I Keep Looking Up” were intentional efforts to ignite the community’s soul.

Chinatown Recovery
Cultivate all generations to experience Chinatown’s cultural vibrancy. The Chinatown History & Art Tour immerses students and visitors into the neighborhood’s art & social justice history, while our annual music and dance festivals invite everyone to dance and sing together in public spaces.

Cross-Cultural Connections
Build solidarity and connections to advance racial justice through art, seeding new projects inspired by programs such as “How I Keep Looking Up,” “Share the Square” and "Artists Against Anti-Asian Hate.”

Equity In the Arts
As an intersectional art center, CCC collaborates with cross-sector partners in social justice and social service as an integral practice to shift the dominant narrative. Ensuring that Asian American and Chinatown artists are represented in City funding while creating structural opportunities. A highlight includes the inaugural API Artists Futures Fund.

SEE US IN ACTION!
CCC creates social impact throughout Chinatown, the city at large, nationally, and abroad.

Our office headquarters by Portsmouth Square regularly serves as a host spot for community organizations while the Visual Art Center features acclaimed year-round exhibition programming and an artist-driven CCC Design Store

Situated in one of Chinatown’s most vibrant alleyways is 41 Ross, an offsite community art space where CCC holds artist residency, exhibitions, pop-ups, and youth programming. Additional outdoor programs include the Chinatown History & Art Tour, public art, festivals, & more!
