Chinese-American Family Alliance for Mental Health

A nonprofit organization

Caring for a loved one with mental illness can be challenging - but you are not alone. CAFAMH brings families together in a supportive, welcoming community where understanding, strength, and connection grow.

To date, we have supported over 5,000 family participants, and continue to serve 200–400 participants annually.

Through culturally responsive guidance, shared experiences, and peer support, we empower families with knowledge, confidence, and hope. Together, we create safe spaces to learn, heal, and uplift one another.

With your support, we can do even more. Donations help strengthen our community, support our members, and reach more caregivers—empowering them to connect and uplift others.

Hear from CAFAMH caregivers!

"Joining CAFAMH has been very meaningful for me. During my most difficult and helpless times, volunteers and others extended a helping hand and provided valuable support, which made me feel more at ease with my situation. I have also learned a lot from them, for which I am extremely grateful.”

“Several years ago, when I was unfamiliar with New York and had no social support, I was fortunate to connect with CAFAMH. I received selfless help from the volunteers and caregivers, which not only alleviated my mental stress but also taught me many skills for interacting with my ill family member and the community support and resources that are available for people with mental illness.”
