ABOUT US

Asian Pacific Counseling and Treatment Centers (APCTC, a division of Special Service for Groups, Inc.) is a contract-agency of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.  Established in 1977, APCTC's mission is to meet the continuously growing mental health needs of our diverse Asian Pacific community through the development and efficient management of culturally and linguistically appropriate mental health services.  Through intensive program development efforts in response to ever-growing service needs, APCTC has since expanded its operation to six locations throughout Los Angeles County and a satellite location in Riverside County.  

Our mental health professionals work as a team to meet our clients' needs, that may be compounded by language and cultural barriers.  The goal of our teams is to provide effective treatment in order to reduce psychiatric symptoms, alleviate psychological distress and to improve functioning levels.  APCTC will continue to advocate for the mental health of our community and to systematically maintain and develop effective strategies to meet those needs. 

APCTC provides vital services to adults, older adults, adolescents, and children who are dealing with a wide range of mental health and social problems.  Most of these individuals come from the following Asian Pacific communities: Cambodian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Pilipino, Thai and Vietnamese.  While the focus of APCTC has been on serving the needs of Asians and Pacific Islanders in need, the Centers also provide services to non-Asian individuals and families.
