Breaking Barriers, Building Leaders
For 25 years, AAPA has been dedicated to advancing diverse professionals into leadership roles across Los Angeles. In an era where DEI initiatives face unprecedented challenges, our mission to empower Asian Americans and other underrepresented professionals has never been more critical.
When you support AAPA during Give in May, you're investing in:
⁕ Leadership Development that transforms careers and communities
⁕ Mentorship Programs that provide the guidance underrepresented professionals need to thrive
⁕ Board Leadership Training that ensures diverse voices shape our institutions
The statistics tell a compelling story: Asian Americans represent over 40% of professionals in Silicon Valley but hold only 28% of executive roles and just 19% of board positions. Nationally, Asian American women occupy only 1.5% of Fortune 1000 board seats.
We're changing these numbers, one leader at a time. Your donation helps us continue this vital work.
Program Highlights
Mentorship Program: Our flagship year-long program pairs emerging professionals with seasoned mentors who provide career guidance, help navigate workplace challenges, and build confidence. Just ask a recent alum, whose participation led to both a promotion and renewed self-assurance.
Board Leadership Program: This 6-month program prepares professionals to serve on nonprofit boards, creating a direct pipeline to leadership positions that influence policy decisions affecting communities across Los Angeles.
Women in Leadership Initiative: Addressing the unique challenges facing women of color in professional settings, this initiative provides specialized mentorship and training to close the leadership gap.
Your Impact
When leaders from diverse backgrounds are empowered, they create more inclusive workplaces, advocate for equitable policies, and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
