Founded as a 501(c)3 non-profit in 1989, the Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center (AASCSC) was founded by Chinese American community leaders to address issues facing their aging parents with the philosophy of “caring for elders as if they were our own.” Since then, AASCSC has become a trusted community organization and partner with a history of ensuring our most vulnerable low-income seniors and immigrants have equitable access to quality social and health programs and services.

AASCSC is dedicated to its principal mission of increasing the awareness of the needs of the Asian American elderly, assisting their access to essential health care and social services, and promoting a dignified living in the community.

As a leading service and advocacy organization entrusted to serve, protect, and celebrate senior citizens, AASCSC has been an important resource to ensure our most vulnerable, low-income seniors, have access and equity to quality social and health programs and services available to all senior citizens for many years. By being able to provide in-language and culturally competent services through our bilingual staff and volunteers, AASCSC works to serve and empower our diverse aging community in a variety of areas: mental health, civic engagement, generational support groups, healthcare literacy and navigation, education, translation services, food and nutrition assistance, housing assistance, transportation services, and more.

Through our focus on Asian American seniors, AASCSC has expanded its services and programs to also serve their family members and AASCSC has reframed its approach with an intergenerational lens to ensure no one is left behind. We are determined to help Asian Pacific Americans of every age lead independent, meaningful, and dignified lives by building a stronger and healthier community through direct services, policy advocacy, and capacity building.

AASCSC's team of staff and volunteers are trusted professionals committed to providing services with compassion, respect, and dignity in cultural and multilingual capacity (Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish, and English). AASCSC's niche is providing multilingual support to the diverse Chinese communities of immigrants and refugees from Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, and other Asian countries. To serve the Chinese diaspora, AASCSC is equipped with fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Min Nan Chinese, Teochew, Shanghainese, Wenzhounese, and many other Chinese dialects.
