About

The Austin Asian Community Health Initiative (AACHI) collaborates with local community partners to improve public health and well-being. We carry out our mission by providing free, language-specific education, advocacy, & healthcare navigation services for diverse communities.

Since 2016, AACHI has been one of the only organizations in Central Texas to provide no-cost, culturally & linguistically-appropriate support services to marginalized Asian community members.

In 2026, AACHI proudly celebrates 10 years of community impact. Over the past decade, we have grown alongside the communities we serve, building trusted relationships and expanding access to critical health and social services.

This milestone year is an opportunity to reflect on the thousands of individuals and families we’ve supported, and to invest in the future of our work. As we look ahead, AACHI remains committed to deepening our reach, strengthening our programs, and continuing to provide vital, no-cost services that meet people where they are, with language, cultural understanding, and dignity at the center.

This campaign is not just a fundraiser, it's a celebration of resilience, collective care, and the thousands of lives touched through AACHI’s work. Every contribution helps us continue providing vital services at no cost, ensuring our communities can thrive.

AACHI Supports the Community via:

  1. Our Community Health Navigation Program (CHN) employs bilingual Community Health Workers (CHW) to facilitate access to and improve the quality of medical and social services for marginalized Asian and Asian-American communities.
  2. Helping clients gain & maintain health coverage, make & attend appointments, and apply for vital programs & services.
  3. Our Annual Community Health Fair serves folks with limited English proficiency (LEP) & refugee communities.
  4. Online Mental Health Directory to find therapists & psychiatrists & other Asian service providers.
  5. Vaccination, education, outreach, & advocacy events.

Each year, AACHI:

  • serves 300-400 clients & their families
  • translates & distributes pertinent health information through over 270,000 touch points in responds to winter storms, infectious diseases, & other critical circumstances
  • helps secure transportation to 100+ individuals
  • facilitates the completion of hundreds of applications for health insurance, resulting in over 95% of our clients gaining or maintaining health coverage
  • organizes 20+ community engagement & education events
  • advocates for health equity & underserved Asian Americans whenever possible
