About

AACHI exists to partner with the local Asian community in Austin to enhance public health and well-being. We fulfill our mission through language-specific education, advocacy, and healthcare navigation services. Our programs provide services for clients guided by the 5 social determinants of health, 1) Healthcare access & quality, 2) Education access & quality, 3) Social and community context, 4) Economic stability, 5) Neighborhood and built environment.

AACHI Supports the Community via:

Community Health Navigation Program: AACHI’s Community Health Navigation Program (CHN) employs bilingual Community Health Workers (CHW) to facilitate access to and improve the quality of medical and social services for marginalized Asian and Asian-American communities.

Annual Community Health Fair: Event primarily for limited English proficiency (LEP) refugee communities.

Last year AACHI:

  • Served 416 Asian immigrants and their families
  • Achieved 95% of our clients gaining or maintaining health coverage
  • Assisted with 70 applications for the Medical Access Program (MAP)
  • Helped with 107 applications for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Provided transportation to 80 clients
  • Distributed fifty $50 gift cards to clients in collaboration with the Austin Equity Office
