Since opening in 1965, community services have been the heart and soul of CPC. This organization was borne out of a desire to support a growing Asian, immigrant, and low-income community in New York City. Early on, CPC staff mostly consisted of volunteers that worked directly with community members, providing them with in-language support, to help them access vital services in their new home. Fifty-nine years later, our mission and values haven’t changed. Today, CPC serves 80,000 community members with over 700 highly trained staff and 50 programs across 35 sites in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens.

We believe positive social change comes from access to services that recognize the importance of Education, Family Support, and Community & Economic Empowerment.

2023 Impacts

Education - We provide high-quality learning opportunities for all ages -- from preschool and after-school enrichment to adult English classes and digital literacy classes -- because education is lifelong.

Family Support - We make it easier for individuals and families to access personalized social resources because support is fundamental to success.

Community & Economic Empowerment - We empower New Yorkers through training, counseling, and advocacy -- so that everyone feels comfortable intervening and speaking up -- to create long-term, sustained transformation within our communities.
