Cinema Sala showcases diasporic filmworks by and about Filipinos striving for representation in media. The organization was founded in 2016 by Marie Jamora and Jason McLagan, welcoming filmmakers into their living room to create a space to share work and build community for Filipinos and Filipino Americans in Los Angeles to support one another.
Cinema Sala is now its own 501(c)3 entity, expanding from short film screenings to educational workshops and events that support the performing and visual arts. Cinema Sala works with and welcomes diverse communities who share our values. Our mission is to provide forever-free programming that is accessible and open to all.
